Site audit

The site audit crawls the site’s pages and checks them for problems that hurt search, AI answers, or both.

The audit shows two scores that are easy to mix up:

  • AEO score: a 0 to 100 composite over four measured dimensions: citation rate, citability, structured data and technical access. It describes the whole site’s standing in AI answers.
  • Readiness score: the average citability of the pages that were scored. It describes how easily an AI engine could quote the pages as written, whether or not it currently does.

A site can have high readiness and a low AEO score (well written pages nobody cites yet), or the other way round.

Each crawled page gets its own scores and a list of issues, such as missing structured data, content an engine cannot reach, or pages that have not been updated in a long time. Critical issues are the ones that stop a page from being indexed, titled or read.

Issue counts are only compared between audits that crawled the same number of pages as the latest one. An audit of 20 pages and an audit of 500 pages find different numbers of issues for reasons that have nothing to do with the site getting better or worse, so the product will not show that as a change.
