Reading the Overview
The Overview is the first screen of a project. It answers one question: is this site doing better than it was?
Progress
Section titled “Progress”The top of the page is the Progress section: one chart, then five numbers.
The chart has a tab for each trend: Top 10 keywords, Google clicks, AI answer share, AI visits and AI demand. Daily figures, such as clicks, show the previous period as a dotted line. Rankings show a year of monthly history as a dashed line, then one point per run.
Below the chart are the five numbers:
| Number | What it counts | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Google clicks | Clicks Google recorded for the site | Search Console |
| Keywords in Google’s top 10 | Keywords where the site ranks in positions 1 to 10 | First run |
| Share of AI answers citing you | Measured AI answers that cited the site | First run |
| Visits from AI answers | Visits Google Analytics attributed to AI answers | Google Analytics |
| Fixes verified live | Fixes confirmed on the live site that still hold | A verified fix |
A number with nothing behind it says so (“Not connected”, “Appears after the first run”) instead of showing zero. A blank is not a zero.
The period switcher
Section titled “The period switcher”Choose 7 days, 28 days, 3 months, 12 months or since start. Each number is compared with the period before it, and the label says what it was compared with, for example “vs previous 28 days”.
First reading, since, and New high
Section titled “First reading, since, and New high”- First reading means there is only one measurement so far. The trend starts at the next run.
- Since 12 Sep appears when the project is younger than the period you picked, so the comparison is with the first reading rather than a full previous period.
- New high means the latest reading is the best in the period shown.
Further down
Section titled “Further down”Under Progress come Next steps, then Sources: a card for each data source, such as Search Console, rankings and the site audit, each with a short summary.
Exporting
Section titled “Exporting”Export report, next to the period switcher, downloads the numbers as a CSV or an Excel (.xlsx) file, or copies them for pasting into Google Sheets. The export says which period it covers, what each change was compared with, and whether each figure is measured or estimated. A blank cell means not measured, not zero.
